Known as Oprah's "Sex Doctor", Dr. Laura Berman specializes in helping women and couples find fulfilling sex lives to enrich their relationships. Dr. Berman is Director of the Berman Center in Chicago and is an assistant clinical professor of OBGYN and Psychiatry at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. Author of For Women Only, Dr. Berman stars in the Showtime series "Sexual Healing" which airs Fridays at 10 p.m. EST.

Dr. Laura Berman is the Director of the Berman Center in Chicago, a specialized healthcare facility dedicated to helping women and couples find fulfilling sex lives and enriched relationships. Dr. Berman is also an assistant clinical professor of OBGYN and Psychiatry at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. She has been working as a sex educator, researcher and therapist for 18 years.
Considered a thought leader in her field, Dr. Berman has appeared in numerous national media outlets including, "The Oprah Winfrey Show", "The Today Show", Fox News, CNN, The New York Times, USA Today, Glamour, Elle and Cosmopolitan.
Dr. Berman stars in the Showtime television series "Sexual Healing", which airs Fridays at 10:00 p.m. Eastern.
She is a columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times and co-author of The New York Times best-selling book, For Women Only: A Revolutionary Guide to Overcoming Sexual Dysfunction and Reclaiming Your Sex Life as well as Secrets of the Sexually Satisfied Woman: 10 Keys to Unlocking Ultimate Pleasure. Her current book, The Passion Prescription, was released by Hyperion in February, 2006.
After obtaining a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work and a Doctorate in Health Education, specializing in human sexuality at New York University, she went on to complete a training fellowship in Sexual Therapy with the Department of Psychiatry, New York University Medical Center.
Dr. Berman is the Director of the Sexual Health State-Of-The-Art series, an accredited program for the Council of Continuing Medical Education and currently serves on the foundation board of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS). She is also a member of the American Association of Sex Educators Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
She has been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards and honors including Israel Cancer Research Fund's Women of Action Award, The National Association of Women Business Owners Rising Star of the Year Award and the Los Angeles Business Journal's Women Who Make a Difference Award and the Illinois State Treasurer Award for Women Making a Difference.
