Rob and his wife Katrina became the first couple from the Americas and only the second couple in history to climb the seven highest summits on the seven continents of the world and the first in history to get engaged, married, and have their honeymoon on three of the seven summits. The objective of the climb was to raise awareness for the good work that Altruvest is doing as well as to raise $1M of seed capital for an endowment to ensure that Altruvest can continue to give tools to charities for many generations to come (www.altruvest.org).

Rob sold AIM (Active Impression Marketing Inc.), an awarding winning Canadian promotional marketing agency that he founded in 1981, to Maritz Inc. out of St. Louis, Missouri in 1992. Through combining AIM with four other divisions operating in Canada, Maritz Canada was formed, which Rob led the financial turnaround of. Maritz Canada has sales well in excess of $100M and is the market leader in performance improvement programs that help clients drive results. Rob is the retired Chairman Emeritus of Maritz Canada. In 1997, Rob left Canada and moved to St. Louis, MO (Maritz headquarters) to coordinate international strategy and market development for Maritz Inc. Once the team was set-up in St. Louis, he moved to Mexico City to lead the turnaround of the Latin American operations for Maritz.

Rob received a Top 40 Under 40 leadership award for the work he had done for creating 1000 new jobs in Canada as well as starting and growing Altruvest Charitable Services, which is a charity focused on giving capacity building tools to charities for free to increase their charitable capacity to give more of donors' donations to their causes. Altruvest's first tools were BoardMatch Leaders and BoardMatch Fundamentals, which are focused on helping facilitate the delivery of tools from the business and professional sectors to the charitable sector.

During an advanced leadership course at Oxford University's Templeton College, Rob received an academic sponsorship to do a Ph.D at Oxford on Altruvest and corporate philanthropy in the discipline of advanced strategy. Rob has a BA with distinction from the University of Toronto; an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University; a not-for-profit management program at UofT/Sheridan College; and a Masters from Oxford University's Saúd Business School in corporate philanthropy/advanced strategy.

In combining his education, his passion for entrepreneurship, and his corporate experience of leading over 2,000 employees with over $750M of revenue, Rob decided to form STS Capital Partners that would bring together this experience with his passion for people focusing on significance in their lives. Upon retiring from Maritz in 2003, after 25 years in the marketing services industry, Rob formed STS Capital Partners leveraging the trademark from "Success to Significance" to help mid-range firms with an enterprise value of $10M to $500M sell all or part of their firms to international strategic buyers. STS has over 12 limited partners with specializations in various industry verticals as well as debt financing experience. STS Capital Partners is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri with offices in Toronto, Mexico City, and London, England.

Rob is a member of the Advisory Team at Templeton College at Oxford University; he is Chair, Advisory Board re: international business, Kelley School of Business at Indiana University; he remains the founder and director of Altruvest Charitable Services; member of YPO London, England Chapter and International Chapter; and member of the Mexico City and Toronto polo clubs.
